The idea of the Dragon is truly archetypal in nature; providing an image that draws us into the deep struggles we each must face at some point in our lives. This mini retreat will take us into a personal story of one’s journey into the mouth of the dragon.

Joseph, a man who listens to dreams, whom God appointed to become the father who taught Jesus how to be a man of faith, trust and justice. A man who experienced a sense of betrayal by his intended, a man of few words, who was so significant in Jesus’ life, from whom he learned the experience of “Abba” – a man written out of the story to protect the virginity of Mary. As a successful carpenter or stone mason, Joseph is a good mentor for us in our journey to become authentic men of faith, hope and generative love –as husbands, fathers, grandfathers, elders and in our work environment. Through reflecting on the biblical stories, Jack and Bob will lead us to be inspired by this wonderful man who mentors and models our male experience.
